Yes, 1.7 has acpi table generation, but no bios update yet.

Next release (2.0) will have seabios 1.7.4 (or newer) which will
actually read the acpi tables from qemu, a snapshot is in git master
already.

switching over smbios is at discussion stage right now, nobody has
written any patches yet and as far I know nobody is actively working on
it.
