Yes, I was using the real IBM firmware for my tests.
As IBM 7020 was upgradable to 604, real firmware works with 601 and 604 types.
Let's say that QEMU emulates an upgraded 7020, by using a 604 cpu by default.
As a consequence, I see no problem compiling OpenBIOS for a 604 CPU.
