I didn't try powerpc-linux (since powerpc-elf-gcc works) but
powerpc64-linux (which was the one that didn't build along with
$ powerpc-elf-gcc -v
Using built-in specs.
Configured with: ../configure --target=powerpc-elf
--enable-targets=powerpc-elf --disable-nls --disable-threads
--enable-languages=c --disable-shared --disable-libssp
Thread model: single
gcc version 4.6.0 20100925 (experimental) (GCC)
