There is a good one in the FreeBSD boot system (the level 3 boot).
Unfortunately, I don't think the licenses are compatible - you could
try to get Matt Dillon <matt at backplane.com> to allow a more
restrictive license for the original sources (which I believe he has
full copyright on).
