Hello Peter and thanks for your report.
The PCI ID in the logs indicate that it is actually an X8SIL-F (the
main difference is IPMI support and 6 instead of 4 SATA ports (with
additional RAID support)). Can you confirm that it is an -F actually?
Or it could also be an X8SIL-V (6 RAID SATA ports, but no IPMI).

They all seam to share the same firmware so flashrom is probably
compatible to all of them, but I would like to take note about the
exact version(s) that have been tested if possible. Thanks!
