[flashrom] Acer Ferrari 3400 doesn't work with Flashrom

This is what you are experiencing.

...this points to a crashed embedded controller.

If you have a vendor BIOS update, the magic to code needed to have the
EC cooperate is included within that update. Do you have a link?
