This is a shot in the dark, but worth a try from my perspective...
My Samsung HDD died recently due to firmware error. I found the firmware
upgrade and the method to upgrade the firmware. Problem is, since the
disk is currently unable to "introduce its self" to the BIOS, the firmware
patch / upgrade is for now useless.
My question: Is there a way to write to the firmware section of HDD or
make BIOS recognise it as a device (gets IRQ or something), then I can
insert the firmware upgrade CD and possibly have the latest version
written to the firmware section of disk.
