"Hours" is probably an exaggeration - but Tiano definitely takes longer
than coreboot: 15-30 Minutes versus a couple of seconds.
With Tiano you get a full OS with an object model, dynamic linker,
drivers and filesystems, and that comes at a price (longer build time) -
whether you need it or not ;-)
