I forgot that romcc was using the SSE registers.

> ROMCCFLAGS := -mcpu=p4 -fno-simplify-phi -O2
Without the line it fails to build.

It builds with this line:
ROMCCFLAGS += -fno-simplify-phi

With this line it fails to allocate enough registers:
ROMCCFLAGS := -fno-simplify-phi -O2
