So you say you want to change some CONFIG_THIS_THAT for every bit of 
_debugging_ you turn on during your bringup?
And: if you ask the user to turn on debugging or just spew, is that what 
you want to see in the log? if so, it should maybe be spew?

but to be honest I'd stick with #if 0 during development and replace it 
with such a CONFIG_ option once the code is done.

In v2 we have far too many, far too meaningless CONFIG_ options. 
Remember XIP_ROM_* ? The _CODE_ should really take care of such stuff. 
Asking the user to make a decision is not helpful to adopters nor users.
