This is a great achievement, but I really miss more discussion of
what was neccessary to do.

Please explain further. Why would a new reading method affect any
compression methods?

Not until I actually looked at the patch was there any mention of
adding a "chunked" LZMA mode, and that was only in your (C) notice.

What does this patch do, exactly, and how do your new bits work?
