this didn't abort the commit with a warning, but we should still try to
be consistent.

This is r5 btw.

Chris, please post a reply to all patches you commit saying something like
"Comitted in r123" (where 123 is the svn revision of the commit), so
we can easily keep track of committed and non-committed patches on
the mailing list.
