i have a tx1000 hp laptop trying to use ubuntu no luck with acpi support bios has limited or no functions listed, i have to use acpi=off for it to work at all , when i used flashrom i came up with this

root at ubuntu:/home/susanne# flashrom Calibrating delay loop... ok No LinuxBIOS table found. Found chipset "NVidia MCP51": Enabling flash write... OK. No EEPROM/flash device found.

but the sothbridge is supported on your list as 177 NVIDIA MCP51 http://tracker.linuxbios.org/trac/LinuxBIOS/browser/trunk/util/flashrom/README

can i use this flashrom to help me with my problems

sound and graphics and wireless will not work w/out acpi, thanks to microsoft please advise any info if you can

what can and how can i influence the change in the south bridge if any at all thanks
