Many consumer network appliances are embedded Linux systems.

They usually run on an ARM CPU and there has not been much work on
LinuxBIOS for ARM.

One reason could be that ARM CPUs already has at least one open
source boot loader. Maybe it already does what everyone wants, and
does it fast.

ARM systems also tend to be much simpler than the "PCs" that
LinuxBIOS runs on.
