i prefer to see the text console and choose text over some splash
screen.  however i think the old vga console it ugly with the huge
fonts.   i think my ibook (running linux) uses framebuffer or something
during boot and it has smaller fonts.  also the firmware has small
fonts too.   does linux bios have this ?
