That's SPI
I started implementing SPI for the ICH7 southbridge a while ago, but
since I don't have the required hardware, I never got it to work.
SPI basically puts all the "magic" into the south bridge. So no flashing
of those chips on the GA-M57SLI-DS4 without the nvidia data sheets. Can
anyone with the datasheets look into supporting them? I'll gladly send
the SPI patch I made.
