certainly some significant parts of init.o cannot be compressed.
You need to get at least far enough to do the cache as ram thing.

Currently the cpu designers Intel and AMD do not support
running out of the cache so that is an issue.

However the size of a .o rarely has a strong correspondence to
actual code size.  Use size to find out the size of the .text
and .data segments.
