cpu,flash,sdram,usb

Hi,
i'm choicing an alternati to boot loader.
This is the system on which i'd wish to install
linuxbios; here's the question:
1) if usb need initialization (like sdram controller);
2) where i can find doc on how to boot another kernel
after linuxbios;
3) if you have any hint to me.
