I think it's an actual thing a compiler supports or does not. The Xen guy 
was horrified that 8c didn't just support it ... "how do you write 
drivers" etc. 


Here's where I put in some obligatory old-fart reminiscence about V6 C and
how it laid out structs but I'm too tired to do it.
