LinuxBIOS....on desktop PCs?

Yes, depending on which mainboard you're running. And with the recent 
revelations in VGA support (It works :)), I think LinuxBIOS is well 
underway for use in the desktop market.

Did you have anything specific in mind? If you're looking for a mainboard, 
check out the Epia or perhaps the Chaintech 7KJD if you're looking for an  
Athlon platform.
