there is something wrong with your ram initialization.

it's very strange what works and does not work when ram is "almost right". 
Partly this is because the cache can hide errors in RAM. At some point, 
however, the RAM errors cause failures.

You will need to rework your RAM setup. 

I have forgotten what chipset you are using.
