Yes. LinuxBIOS actually replaces the BIOS in the ROM/Flash on the blade.

Functionality does change. LinuxBIOS does not currently support Windowz 
or any OS that makes BIOS calls. Other function changes are based on 
obvious differences between bits set during config and init in the OEM 
BIOS and what's set in LinuxBIOS. With LinuxBIOS you can make any mods 
you wish, not just the few settings typically allowed in the OEM BIOS setup.
