The problem is the locked ME region as quoted above and the SMM
protection, which is both not trivial to work around, sorry.
I have added the board to our list of (un)supported boards (with an
appropriate note) and will commit that later together with other small
changes.

I had a stupidifying problem with the board - if you disable legacy USB by accident, there's no way to get back to BIOS, since USB keyboard no longer works during POST. Duh. I hoped I could upgrade the BIOS from Linux and get rid of the problem.
Ripping the battery off for a good while helped, and I was able to upgrade the BIOS at POST.
Anyway, it would be cool to be able to flash BIOS from Linux.
