Hello LWS,
I use a RPi for flashing chips too, and I connect pin 17 (3.3V source for the RPi) to three pins on DIP-8/SOIC-8 flash chip:
- pin 3, to disable write protection - pin 7, to enable the chip - pin 8, to power the chip
As I understand it, it should work.
