it seems odd. I'd try again and compare the exact error message. If the
failing address and byte count stay exactly the same, it might be a
write-protection that flashrom doesn't know how to disable. If anything
changes between two successive write attempts, it's more likely a hard-
ware failure (more often the programmer/connection to the flash chip
than the chip itself).
