    I have another question: this patch looks independent from the rest of the chain, it implements an idea which is independent of the rest of the chain, is it correct? Can this be merged by itself?

    Yes, you are right. this CL is actually fixing the race condition issue as discussed over mailing list.

    rest in this patch train are some refactoring.
