From what I read in the documentation, flashing coreboot on KGPE-D16 while on stock BIOS would fail because of some undocumented interactions. I personally haven't confirmed this, but I do have an external programmer that I use for flashing coreboot on this board. However, it's said that flashrom will work fine if you're already running coreboot on it.

If you have a Linux environment you should be able to build it from source with some effort, and you can customize coreboot to your need when building. It seems Libreboot is still offering the latest build for this board. Although that build was outdated, it should work better than the current code (in terms of memory and device compatibility) as the board hasn't been maintained for a while and have developed some regressions, that I haven't been able to get everything working as desired. It'd be better... If someone who had previously got it running well on this board could point out which commit worked best on this board.

Note that you need to use the 4.11_branch if you want the latest code for this board, as this board is no longer in the master branch now. The documentation for this board is still available at:

Don't have the whole answer but take a look here about Ubuntu & coreboot:

Hello,
I have an Asus KGPE-D16 motherboard, is it possible, as far as you know, to flash coreboot with the internal method, i.e. using flashrom on Ubuntu/Debian?
Moreover I would like to know if is possible to download the coreboot.rom from anywhere (maybe with seabios included)

Thank you very much!
Best regards
Alessio
