The patch still didn't apply for some reason. Here's an updated patch which

 * applies cleanly to svn
 * removes the superfluous 'svn:executable' stuff from the patch
 * fixes a few minor cosmetic issues in the headers (whitespace mostly)
 * is tested with ./buildtarget (not abuild, though) by me; it compiles,
   but I cannot test more as I don't have the hardware

As soon as the "Fix to vga emulator" issue is resolved, I think
this can be committed.
