This should not be necessary. Libvirt lets you specify the desired firmware in the domain XML: https://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html#elementsOSBIOS In this case, it should be <os> <loader>/path/to/your/bios.bin</loader> </os> Thanks Laszlo
