Stand: 1 November Main track talk: first batch 11 October, second batch 8 November Lightning talk: 22 November Talk/Demo in foreign devroom: probably end of October If you want me to submit a stand request for a combine coreboot/flashrom/LinuxBoot stand, please have someone volunteer as backup organizer. Hello, I tried to read my mobos bios, got this message. -Markus sudo flashrom --programmer internal -r ASRock_B450_test.bin flashrom v1.1-rc1-70-g71b706f on Linux 5.2.14-arch2-1-ARCH (x86_64) flashrom is free software, get the source code at https://flashrom.org Using clock_gettime for delay loops (clk_id: 1, resolution: 1ns). Found chipset "AMD FP4". Enabling flash write... FCH device found but SMBus revision 0x59 does not match known values. Please report this to flashrom(a)flashrom.org and include this log and the output of lspci -nnvx, thanks!. Could not determine chipset generation.PROBLEMS, continuing anyway No EEPROM/flash device found. Note: flashrom can never write if the flash chip isn't found automatically.

Dear Ray, Sorry, but I am quite sure that you will not be able to successfully flash a memory chip of your video card using the flashrom's Internal flashing mode, especially on a Mac: even the internal flashing of its' own BIOS chip is likely not supported (if a chipset isn't) and could result in a (software) bricking. So, most likely you'll have to use the external flashing adapter, like USB CH341A, which hopefully could be connected to a memory chip of your video card using a test clip (to avoid the soldering). Then, the command line will look like sudo ./flashrom -p ch341a_spi -r dump.bin -V And you could find an example of flashing setup here: http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Flashing_a_BIOS_chip_with_Bus_Pirate#CH… I am sending a copy of this e-mail to a flashrom mailing list, just in case someone would see a mistake in my message and would like to clarify or add some useful info. does general bitbang support exist?

I've been googling and perusing the source tree, but am still unsure if general bitbang support is present in flashrom. Specifically, I have a board which has an onboard FT2232H with some of the GPIO pins wired to a SPI flash device. The pins used are NOT the MPSSE SPI pins from the 2232, but rather some other unused GPIO pins (the MPSSE dedicated pins are being used for JTAG, and the other 2232 channel is being used for data transfer), and I can't change the wiring from the 2232 to the SPI flash. Does flashrom support this type of configuration? If there is general bitbang support, I can write the necessary routines to control the pins of the 2232 in a bitbang fashion. Any pointers here would be much appreciated. Thanks for a great tool! Steve

Hello, We're attempting to update our device using flashrom v1.1-rc2 and it does not update successfully. Attached is the verbose report as requested by the output. The board we're using is based on the DFI KU171/173, with Intel Kaby Lake i3-7100U CPU, Intel 100 Series Chipset Family LPC Controller/eSPI Controller (PCI id 8086:9d4e. I found a link to correct the problem that many people have but no one has completed with flashrom on Mac they e 580 from Mac Pro then insert to PC to use flash program, I would like to try to do all on MAC usin flash rom.
