Without this Linux will print messages like: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 7: no space for [mem size 0x00100000 64bit] pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 7: failed to assign [mem size 0x00100000 64bit] Tested on Camelback Mountain, and Harcuvar. They will be cached in an global array. So, the implementation assumes that there is only one instance of this driver but that should always be the case.
